Creating a new project

You can add music and sound to an existing project or to a new project. Just as in any Windows program, you open an existing project file using the File > Open command, and create a new project file using the File > New command.

When you create a new SONAR project, there are some additional parameters you can set to make it easier to work on your project. These include:

Meter and key signatureMetronome and tempo settings

Audio sampling rate

MIDI timing resolutionSee:

Note - Using Offline Help

Note: If you prefer to always use offline Help, go to Edit > Preferences > File > Advanced in your Cakewalk software and select Always Use Offline Help.

If you are not connected to the internet, your Cakewalk software will default to showing offline help until an internet connection becomes available.
